Comparing natural acne treatment products to chemical products is a never-ending discussion. Most people will recommend what has worked best for them. Online and off line media will probably advertise products of large companies with a huge marketing budget. However, can a natural acne product be as equally effective as a chemical product?

The question above must be answered by each acne sufferer. No acne treatment is like the other, since no skin is like the other. Some people with dry skin need a different treatment than people with a oily skin and therefore a tendency to develop acne.

Acne has existed as long as humans have existed, and the natural treatments may be just as old. One traditional natural treatment against acne is to apply a towel over one’s skin and let hot steam soak it. If you try this treatment take care of not getting burned since this is the only side-effect to it. The purpose of this procedure is to shed the upper layer of skin and remove, at least partially, the acne. As other methods, it will only work if used consistently and for a long time.

Perhaps the most well-known natural product for treatment acne is, well, soap. It has been there for many thousands of years and it works. Acne is just serum stuck in your pores. Soap is the most reliable method to remove serum. The drawback here is that it dries your skin. In the case of already dry skins, it is not the best method.

More exotic methods are tea oil, spices, homeopathic oils and diet supplements like omega 3 or garlic pills. In the case of tea oil it helps you because it kills bacterial agents, which are responsible for inflammations of your skin. Spices are also quite good against any bacteria, but won’t do any other good besides that. Omega 3 and garlic pills can change the balance of fatty acids in your body. It’s not for sure that they work against acne, but they will improve your general health positively.

A natural acne product usually works better for mild cases. Probably, the way to go is testing many products and see what works for you. You can also test a combination of products. In most cases, mainstream methods will at least reduce your problem.
